Fans of Luke Perry will be able to catch him on screen for the last time in July in Quentin Tarantino’s newest film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

Perry plays Scott Lancer in the Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt-starring movie. Producer David Heyman told EW, “[Luke] brings a very vivid character who is charismatic, and he brings heart to whatever he does. I think that it will be a pleasure for those fans of Luke to see.”

According to producer Shannon McIntosh, working with Tarantino was “a bucket list for Luke,” whose character is a tribute to the CBS Western series Lance, which aired from 1968 to 1970 and starred Wayne Maunder as a character named Scott Lancer.

“Luke went in and won that part and deserved that part and owned that part, so it’s really special that was a bucket list that he was able to work with Quentin,” McIntosh told EW. “His performance is amazing and he will be remembered as we release this movie, and his family will celebrate his performance with us.”

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood is Tarantino’s ninth film and his “most personal” to date. For the movie, he returned to his L.A. hometown and explored his own childhood memories which is set in 1969 Hollywood.

Perry died in early March after suffering a massive stroke. DiCaprio mourned Perry’s death on Twitter, writing, “Luke Perry was a kindhearted and incredibly talented artist. It was an honor to be able to work with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his loved ones.”

Perry rose to prominence in the early '90s for his role as Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills, 90210. He then became something of a teen idol, leading to appearances in films including Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1992. Perry later found success as part of the main cast of Riverdale, which is currently in its third season.

Once Upon A Time… in Hollywood is set for release on July 26.
