When you think about it, most cartoons would look pretty nightmarish if their oddly shaped bodies were brought into the real world, and Miguel Vasquez has spent a lot of time thinking about it. The 3D artist rendered the best friend duo at the heart of Hey Arnold! with a horrific commitment to realism.

The results are as intentionally awful/awesome as you'd think. Arnold's head was weirdly shaped in the universe where he lives; bringing it into ours was bound to be discomfiting.

Turning Nicktoons (and other animated characters) into horrific real world monsters is what Vasquez does. He's aiming to use nostalgic characters to unsettle people.

"I figured that Arnold's football shaped head would transition well from 2D to 3D," Vasquez said in an interview with BuzzFeed. "And provide a great laugh or shriek to those who loved the show back in the day!"

Vasquez previously achieved a bit of internet fame when his take on SpongeBob and Patrick spread throughout the weird-seekers of the internet. He's taken on other strangely shaped toons, including Nigel Thornberry and Homer Simpson.
