Mortal Kombat knows exactly what its bloodthirsty fans want. On Thursday, NetherRealm Studios held their community reveal event for Mortal Kombat 11. They released the first trailer for the latest installment in the series centered entirely around its new fatalities. As you can see in the video above, MK11 features fatalities that are wildly imaginative and somehow even more gruesome than ever before.

The initial characters for Mortal Kombat 11 that were revealed included new names and returning favorites, such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Baraka, Sonya, Raiden, Skarlet, and Geras. According to NetherRealm and series co-creator Ed Boon, Geras has “time-control abilities.” His character reveal trailer shows how he has the power to summon objects made of sand and stone while being able to control time.

Geras is a servant for the franchise’s first female boss and fellow new character Kronika, the Keeper of Time. Mortal Kombat 11 will feature a new, more expansive story mode, as well as the chance to customize their fighter's outfits. The latter was revealed when the game was first announced at The Game Awards last year. It was also announced that Sonya Blade, who finished her opponent by shooting him into the rotor blades of a helicopter in the fatalities trailer, would be voiced by Ronda Rousey. Mortal Kombat 11 comes nearly four years after the previous edition.

Mortal Kombat 11 is expected to be released on April 23 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
