There are millions of people around the world who would undoubtedly leap at the opportunity to go out on a date with Champagne Papi, but when Drake decided to shoot his shot with supermodel Heidi Klum, the Project Runway host swerved and decided to ignore him.

“You snooze you lose. He called, like, a week too late,” Klum explained, bewilderingly, to Ellen on Tuesday’s show. “Someone who I know knows him and he asked to have my number and then he texted me. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so weird!’ but then I never texted him back because I found the love of my life.”

Drake likely caught on to the vibes Klum was putting out in her February appearance on Ellen, when during a game of "Who’d You Rather?" Klum stuck with Drizzy over almost everyone else, with the exception of Joaquin Phoenix. “You put it out into the universe! You really did,” she told DeGeneres, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Coincidentally, the same day of that episode she met her now boyfriend Tom Kaulitz. Unfortunately for the Toronto native, he texted a week after the model began dating the 29-year-old.

At one point in the show, Klum apologizes to directly to Drake, who up to this point probably just thought he simply had the wrong number. “Drake, I’m sorry I didn’t text you back,” she said.

Elsewhere in her interview with Ellen, the host talks about leaving her “baby” Project Runway after 16 seasons to work on a new Amazon show. Check out that clip below.
