Hitting theaters on Aug. 10 is what appears to be another gritty slice of life from A24, Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire's A Prayer Before Dawn. The film tells the true story of English boxer Billy Moore, who was an addict that fought his way out of a life that landed him in a Thai prison. The film was shot on location in Nakhon Pathom Prison Thailand, which is a legit Thai prison, and featured actual former Thai inmates. Today, we have an exclusive clip from the film.

In the above scene, titled "I Will Do Anything," we see just that. Moore's heroin addiction has him hurting bad, so bad that he'd be willing to exact violence for a corrupt prison official for a fix. The visual can be tough to watch for those who aren't into violence but transports viewers into the horrific world that would force an individual to take drastic measures to get right.

A Prayer Before Dawn arrives after a wealth of critical praise. It's sitting at a 96 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and had its world premiere at Cannes in 2017. It stars Joe Cole (of Peaky Blinders fame) and Vithaya Pansringarm. Watch the clip up above, and be sure to catch this in theaters on Aug. 10. The film is also available now exclusively on DIRECTV.
