Above, check the new 35-second teaser for the latest batch of Issa Rae's critically acclaimed series. New episodes begin Aug. 12.
"It feels like I'm being tested in a really crazy way," Rae toldGQ last month. "It's nothing I can really get into. It's like third-season problems along with, like, just life shit. As a creative, I never imagined that I'd be a boss, too." Though moving into the third season of an HBO-backed comedy means the series is undoubtedly a success, Rae is still cautious. "This could be the worst season we've ever had," she added, comparing the process of keeping a TV show vibrant to updating a stand-up act. "And then what? Then people are all of a sudden like, 'Oh, okay.' Then the calls stop."
Rae's series bagged a Peabody in April, with award organizers touting it as a groundbreaking series boasting a fresh and authentic perspective. Insecure was joined by additional 2018 winners Saturday Night Live, Handmaid's Tale, and fellow HBO hit Last Week Tonight.
