Denzel Washington deserves a five-star rating in this new trailer for The Equalizer 2.

Washington is reprising his role as Robert McCall, four years after the 2014 original. Things have noticeably slowed down for the violent hero, who has taken up a job as a Lyft driver. These days, McCall is living the chill life of judging his passengers and transporting them to and fro, that is, until he sees some vigilante justice that needs to be served.

It’s hard to believe that, according to Deadline, this is Denzel's first-ever sequel. What begins as a tranquil story of a Lyft driver turns into an action-packed thriller, where McCall is seen beating up sleazy men and pulling huge knives on passengers, which probably means said passenger is not leaving a tip.

“I punish the guilty. If you’re lucky. They give you the opportunity to do the right thing. This ain’t one of those times,” Washington can be heard warning in a voiceover as bodies hit the floor. But all this violence is not for naught. According to the synopsis, McCall is trying to avenge the death of his friend and former coworker, played by Melissa Leo.

Washington's character is shadowed byMoonlightstar Ashton Sanders, and the film also stars Pedro Pascal and Bill Pullman with direction by Antoine Fuqua and a script from Richard Wenk, who both worked on the first Equalizer

The Equalizer 2 hits theaters on July 20.
