Seth Rogen on Working Out With Kanye West and the Difference Between Musicians and Actors

Rogen also retold the story of Kanye performing 'The Life of Pablo' for him in a Mercedes limo-van.

Seth Rogen, who recently released his Netflix comedy special Hilarity for Charity, sat down with HYPEBEAST Radio to talk about the genesis of his annual fundraising event, The Room, and his past interactions with Kanye West

In particular, Rogen said he and Kanye used to cross paths as they shared the same trainer. "He didn’t like it as much as I did!" he recalled. "He was not in it to win it. He was trudging through it like everyone else."

Rogen also retold the story of the time the Chicago artist rapped the entirety of what would become The Life of Pablo to him and his wife in a Mercedes limo-van. "He basically just rapped for two hours in our faces. We got a personal, two-hour Kanye West concert."

Another topic broached was the difference between actors and musicians, with Rogen saying, from his own experience, the latter group has a "much worse grasp of reality than other people in the entertainment industry," and explained why.

"Even the most famous actors have to interact with regular people from time to time. Musicians never have to do that," he said. "They never have to interact with regular people—they are always surrounded, they all roll with crazy entourages that completely insulate them from any normal interaction with any normal person."

Kanye is currently at work on his follow-up to The Life of Pablo, tentatively titled Love Everyone, with a June 1 release date set by the man himself. His latest album cycle has also come with controversy, as he's put his full support behind Donald Trump, which has received mixed feelings from fans—and friends—of the rapper.
