Video Footage Shows Diners Dodging Gunfire at Onset of Paris Terrorist Attacks

The footage shows the harrowing attack of the Casa Nostra cafe, as workers and diners take cover.

Shortly after reports of Abdelhamid Abaaoud’s death started to surface following a massive raid by French authorities at an apartment complex in Paris, harrowing surveillance footage of last week’s devastatingterrorist attacks was released. The footage, obtained by the Daily Mail, shows a gunman opening fire at one of the restaurants targeted during the ISIS-perpetrated violence.

As two people are seen talking near the bar area of the Casa Nostra cafe, glass shatters down upon them, prompting them to take immediate shelter. Multiple people can be seen making their escape via the restaurant's stairs, while others take shelter behind the bar and elsewhere. According to the Mail, the footage also shows the moment the attacker's assault rifle "misfired" above a woman's head, granting her a chance to quickly run away.

Abaaoud, the so-called "mastermind" of the Paris attacks, was confirmed by French prosecutors on Thursday as dead. He is now believed to be behind "4 of 6" additional thwarted attacks since spring of this year, reports the Associated Press:

Abaaoud had been linked to the April attack on a church in the Parisian suburb of Villejuif in which a person was killed, and to an attack by a gunman on a high-speed train that was thwarted by three young Americans.

Abaaoud was reportedly killed during the aforementioned raid in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis.
