If you thought streaming your favorite PS3 games to your PS4 via PlayStation Now sounded cool, well, things may be getting a lot better.

According to a report over at The Escapist, a software update will allow PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games to run on your shiny new next-gen console. Some games may even have native 1080p rendering.

When the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both launched without backwards compatibility, we all kind of collectively sighed and assumed the era of playing your old games on new systems was over. But if the tweet that The Escapist puts so much faith in is correct, we could be dusting off the original Twisted Metal sometime soon in between sessions of Infamous: Second Son.
