The first teaser for Paul W.S. Anderson's 3D disaster epic Pompeii has arrived. Of course, it's based on the destruction of the Mount Vesuvius-doomed ancient Roman city, but something tells us it's the screenplay's going to employ the all too popular Young Adult [Forbidden: optional] Romance narrative framing device. Exhibit A: Star Kit Harrington, better known as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, is practically shirtless for every scene in the clip. Exhibit B: The teaser is mostly comprised of smoldering gazes shared between Harrington and co-star Emily Browning.
Still, if the 3D comes correct, this could be worth the watch, and Kiefer Sutherland going back to his pre-Jack Bauer days to play the villain doesn't hurt either. Also, Harrington says the great, ironically optimistic line that all doomed disaster dramas must have: "Whatever is happening here, my god is going to stop it, now." Even outside the realm of Westeros, Jon Snow still knows nothing.
