This past weekend, Electronic Arts and the Sims 3 franchise teamed up with Variety to celebrate the comedic contributions of Amy Poehler. The event brought out a variety of stars (no pun intended) to honor the comedian including Sarah Silverman, Will Arnett, Will Ferrell, Whitney Cummings, and even Gene Simmons.
The stars in attendance started the night by walking the official Sims 3 ‘green’ carpet and mingled with other celebrities and live Sims alike (and even a couple of Sims pets). Will Ferrell presented the guest of honor, Poehler, with the 2011 Power of Comedy Award which Variety awards annually for candidates’ contributions to the comedic industry. In addition to the award, Amy was honored with speeches and performances from the other stars in attendance.
