That damn chill is hitting the Northeast, but don’t you fret: DAD’s got the journey that’s full of heat in the form of fire beats and treats. Some really surprising bits touched down this week, from impressive mixes by DJs who are known for tearing up the club to equally-inspiring new material from producers you should definitely be up on. Just hold onto the guardrail if it gets to be too real.
Diplo – Solid Steel Mix
Diplo went in the mix for the legendary Solid Steel radio program, going deep for an hour of unexpected treats.
Lido’s “I Love You Too” Remixtape
You have to play for it to download it, but Lido sorted out a free release featuring remixes from his I Love You EP.
DJ Slugo x Nicolas Jaar – “Ghetto”
The lyrics are so poignant and timely, yet wrapped in a beautiful throwback shell.
Bleep Bloop – “10 Watt Lazers”
Don’t sleep on this NorCal-based producer. DJ Shadow’s picked him for his new Liquid Amber imprint, and the title track from his forthcoming EP is nutso.
Spank Rock – “Gully (With You Remix)”
Switch (who many remember as being a vital part of the first incarnation of Major Lazer) has linked up with Rick Trainor for a new project, With You. This Spank Rock remix is the first cut from their union, and it’s a beautifully chilled groove.
AWE – “Griffin”
AWE got the Plastician co-sign, and continues to drop mesmerizing bits. The bounce in this bass is tremendous.
Dej Loaf – “Try Me (R3ll Remix)”
R3ll’s remix game has been on point, and he threw all of his bells and whistles at Dej Loaf’s viral smash.
A-Trak ft. Andrew Wyatt – “Push (E.A.S.Y. Remix)”
Enferno and Shiftee channel Boyz II Men in the video for their new A-Trak remix. #RealDJing

Heroes x Villains’ Basel Castle 2014 Mix
Basel Castle hits Art Basel Miami tonight, and Heroes x Villians are going to be rocking. Their first studio mix in a year is a promo tool for this show, and makes sense of that gray area between Travi$ Scott and Bromance.
“I’m Tryna Tell Ya”
This is probably the best documentary on the Chicago footwork scene, ever. Rest in peace, DJ Rashad.
