We’re reaching the halfway point in 2014, and I can’t front: there are a grip of great releases out there. Loads of solid mixes, sure, but the actual material creeping out of all of the corners of the scene should make anyone who truly follows how electronic music is growing very excited. This week is the best, but it’s also a snapshot. And with such diversity, it isn’t hard to satisfy even the most brittle, aged ravers (trust me, I’m as jaded as can be).
Disclosure & Friend Within – “The Mechanism”
There’s not a lot going on in this clip, but it works perfectly with this ill collaboration.
3.
Nadastrom – “Fallen Down”
This duo is more known for their moombahton exploits, but their forthcoming Fallen Down EP is going to highlight how they take on house music.
The 2 Bears – “Angel (Touch Me) (Melé Remix)”
Melé is just toying with us, giving us a super-fun take on this 2 Bears track. Love the way he manipulated those vocals.
Nadus – “Nxwxrk”
Not only is Nadus’ debut EP Broke City influenced by his town (Newark, NJ), he’s actually giving all of the proceeds to the Newark Boys Chorus School, which helped him see the world and influence the producer he’s become. This anthem is necessary.
Jim-E Stack – “Reassuring”
You might remember Jim-E from his exploits with Baauer and RL Grime during their Infinite Daps tour last year; this is the first taste from his forthcoming debut album, Tell Me I Belong.

Jimmy Edgar’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix
Edgar grew up soaking in the Detroit sound, and put that energy into his recent Essential Mix.
denitia and sene – “Divided (Kastle Remix)”
So soulful, so everything.
Grandtheft & Keys N Krates – “Keep It 100″
Too chill? Allow Grandtheft and Keys N Krates to turn it up a little bit.
Flinch & Infuze – “Hyperion”
Not high enough” try “Hyperion” on for size. Proper party starter.
The Boxed, Vol. 2 Compilation
20 amazing UK grime/bass music productions, for free. Boxed does the damn thing as a monthly in London, and their crew (and guests) are some of the most talented in the UK scene today.
Wheez-ie – “Deadbolt”
This is one amazing ball of organized confusion.
Kingdom’s European Tour Spring 2014 Promo Mix
If you’re in Europe, catch Kingdom when he’s near. If not, enjoy the hell out of this mix. Roll credits.
