The first taste of Buddy’s upcoming debut studio album is one of the most powerful tracks the young rapper has released yet. On Thursday, the 24 year old dropped off his much-anticipated record “Black” featuring Harlem’s ASAP Ferg with production by Jahaan Sweet. The cut marks Buddy’s first official release since his 2017 EP Magnolia and it's a celebration of blackness in the face of discrimination and oppression.

“I feel like Trayvon with this black hoodie on / Huey P. Newton / Black Revolution / I’m with a Nubian queen and some illegal aliens / I got a black fist balled up and it ain’t just me, it’s all of us,” the Compton rapper spits.

According to Buddy’s team, “Black” will appear on his first full-length album under RCA Records. Though the project’s official title has yet to be announced, we can expect it to drop sometime this summer. Buddy is joining Joey Badass on the upcoming Amerikkana Tour. The North American trek will kick off April 17 in Boston and will conclude May 26 in Montreal. You can check out the full tour schedule here and find ticket information.
