Since releasing the inescapable hit “Panda” and signing to G.O.O.D. Music, Desiigner hasn’t been able to avoid comparisons to Future. When the 18-year-old NYC rapper was included on “Pt. 2” on Kanye’s The Life of Pablo, some people actually thought he was Future before seeing the credits. Regardless, the buzz he built was real and many were curious what else he had up his sleeve (and if he would look to distance himself from the Future comparisons).

Today, he showed up at The FADER Fort at SXSW and let fans in on some new material, performing a song called “Pluto” which featured a hook: “Pluto Pluto Pluto, go to Mars on ’em.” Of course, Pluto was also the name of Future’s debut studio album in 2012 so it looks like Desiigner isn’t afraid of the comparisons. Watch a couple brief clips of his wildly energetic debut of “Pluto” at SXSW below (and if you’re in Austin, come see him at our No Ceilings SXSW show on Friday, March 18).
