It’s Travis Scott’s weekend.

Just hours before kicking off his 2021 Astroworld festival, the Houston-bred rapper returned with the official video for “Escape Plan.” Scott premiered the cut on Thursday evening, along with his J. Cole-assisted track “Mafia.” It’s unclear if the records are stand-alone releases or if they’ll land on the follow-up to 2018’s Astroworld.

The visual—co-directed by Scott, Eliel Ford, and White Trash Tyler—begins with La Flame hopping into his car and immediately playing the track with no one around. We then see several scenes of him outside a mansion surrounded by security, rapping on a hill with his guard dogs in tow, and a few shots of him and his crew enjoying their jet skis and ATVs before making their way to a party.

The release comes as Scott prepares to release his fourth studio album, reportedly titled Utopia. He spoke about the effort in a recent CR Men interview with artist Tom Sachs.

“Medicine, nursing, being a better person, talking, language, communication—you know, a utopian state. That’s what my album is about,” he explained. “You think utopia is a society where everything is good: health, buildings, architecture— nah. It’s just about proper lines of communication. Because that’s the dystopian shit we’re in right now. It’s all hate, hate, hate, and all of that is drawn from what? Miscommunication, non-communication, non-understandable communication, ignorance to communication. ‘I don’t like this person.’ Why? Because somebody told me something to not like this person? Because in history I read to not like this person? Why?”

Scott has not confirmed Utopia’s release date, but fans are hoping to get an update during this weekend’s Astroworld event, which will feature performances by Young Thug, SZA, Lil Baby, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, and more.
