Premiere: Toulouse-Based Dirtsa Unleashes Booming Rap Joint “Say Sh*t”

Packed with shuddering walls of bass and laid out with a rabble-rousing flow, it’s teaming with energy, but so much more than an energetic joint for the clubs.

Dirtsa

Originally from Douala, Cameroon and now based in Toulouse, France, multi-talented rhymer Dirtsa is back with a new slammer called “Say Shit”—her first since last year’s monster six-track EP Aletheia’s Calling

From poetry to painting to rap, Dirtsa has a lot of strings to her bow and even more to get off her chest. The new track, packed with shuddering walls of bass and laid out with a rabble-rousing flow, is teaming with energy, but it’s so much more than an energetic joint for the clubs.

As with a lot of Dirtsa’s art, it’s a cathartic experience for rhymer and listener alike. Pouring in her years of experiences of racism and a system stacked against her, it’s a defiant, not-gonna-take-it-anymore line in the sand.

Explaining further, Dirtsa shares: “This song was inspired by my will to explore and stretch my sound further. I wanted to explore my sound but also Black music in general and channel all this in a different way. In situations of injustices, I don’t think we should stay silent. When people are trying to share things with us that matter to them I don’t think we should stay silent. This song particularly deals with that and resilience to that.”
