After a short hiatus, Jorja Smith made her return last month with the song “Try Me”, as well as the announcement that she’d be releasing a new album this year. Now, after the grand melodrama of the DAMEDAME*-produced track and its Marseille-set visuals, the Walsall native shifts gears slightly for something a little different.

For new single “Little Things”, P2J and New Machine handle production, crafting a jazzy, party-ready instrumental for Jorja’s sultry vocals and seductive lyrics. It also comes with a video from director Bolade Banjo who puts Jorja right in the thick of a high-energy house party where the drinks are flowing and the bodies are bumping up against each other.

Sharing her thoughts on the track, Jorja says: “The song is pretty self-explanatory. I had a lil’ concoction—rum, Ting and a Magnum—when we started creating it, and I was just imagining hearing this song walking into a party and seeing someone I’d had my eye on. It’s fun!”

Video director Bolade Bango added: “The lyrics and instrumental were very much dedicated to the direction of the video; it was about finding the stylistic language that made sense. Speaking with Jorja about how she wanted to approach this, it became apparent; ‘Little Things’ was within itself.”
