Rising star Jae Skeese tapped Flee Lord and Conway the Machine to assist him on his new single “Against tha Grain,” and it’s received an accompanying video premiering above.

Directed by Luqman, the visual sees Skeese hit the road with Flee Lord and Conway as they rhyme about their respective missions in the rap game. Skeese opens with stories of his past and explains how trust is one of his most valuable assets, Flee Lord follows with tales of how he’s hustled to the top, and Conway closes things out and drops some gems along the way.

Jae Skeese is the latest signee to Conway’s Drumwork Music Group, and his debut project with the label, Abolished Uncertaintiesis in the works and being executive produced by Conway. “Against tha Grain,” however, will be featured on Skeese’s upcoming EP, Iroquois Pliskin, which is set to arrive this spring.

When talking about the project, which was inspired by Snake from the video game Metal Gear SolidSkeese explained how he wanted to talk more about his personal story in the lead-up.

Before I release my official Drumwork debut project, I wanted to give fans a project to hold them over and to feel more connected,” Skeese told Complex. “With Iroquois Pliskin, I get a little more into my story and I feel fans will love it for that reason. Being vulnerable hasn’t always been the easiest thing for me, but it’s essential for my growth as an artist. It’s time to get people in tune with my sound and message.”
