Gunna kicked off the new year with the release of what promptly became his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, DS4Ever. Continuing the celebration, the Young Stoner Life artist brought “Die Alone” to the Late Late Show stage on Monday night.

Leading into the performance, Gunna spoke briefly with James Corden, including on whether or not the late-night personality could be considered someone who is pushing P. “You definitely pushin’ P,” Gunna said. “You see how you got your show set up, the Late Late Show, and today you’re premiering Gunna and Gunna’s one of the best artists that’s coming out. … That’s P. Supporting is P.”

Gunna was also asked about how his freestyling prowess had an impact on sessions for DS4Ever, with Gunna noting that “practice made perfect.” See more above, including a performance of “Die Alone.”

Speaking with Complex last month, Gunna reflected on the recent No. 1 victory, which saw the new album ultimately beating out The Weeknd’s Dawn FM for the top spot. According to Gunna, there’s more to the feat than mere numbers.

“It’s not just about me going No. 1,” he said at the time. “I think it’s a really good project. I put my all in it, me and the producers. I think people are understanding that I’m an artist, and I really put my passion into this music.”

Also in January, Gunna was among the artists assembled for Cordae’s From a Birds Eye View album. Gunna’s appearance on the song “Today” is joined on the album by collabs with Lil Wayne, Freddie Gibbs and Stevie Wonder, and more.
