Ed Sheeran’s Saturday Night Live performance went off without a hitch.

He performed “Shivers” and “Overpass Graffiti” off his newly released studio album =.

Uncertainty surrounded the gig after Sheeran revealed he had tested positive for COVID-19 last month. The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter announced his diagnosis in an Oct. 24 Instagram post, telling fans he had to cancel in-person commitments as he completed the self-isolation phase.

“I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house,” he wrote. “Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone x.”

Several outlets reported the SNL team was “scrambling” to find Sheeran’s replacement or come up with a way to have him perform remotely. But thankfully for fans, Sheeran successfully completed his quarantine earlier this week and was cleared to hit the SNL stage.

“… If you see me out and about, I’ve had the all clear and done my quarantine,” he wrote on Instagram. “Excited to hit the ground running with work again, and SNL is still on, so tune in Saturday, see you there.”

This week’s episode—hosted by Succession star Kieran Culkin—marks Sheeran’s third performance on the comedy sketch series. He made his first appearance in 2014 and his second in 2017.
