Fresh off teaming with Davido for their collaborative single “Showing Off Her Body,” DaBaby returns with his latest solo offering “Tough Skin.”
The track arrives alongside a Reel Goats-directed music video, part of which depicts the North Carolina rapper up on a cross like Jesus and being lit on fire by a group of people in red suits with their faces obscured.
“Let’s get this Baby on Baby 2 shit started,” he wrote on Instagram. In a second post he noted, “Don’t trip, it’s just the warm up.”
“This is the most attention I’ve paid to some music before I’ve dropped it,” he said of the record during an appearance on the Full Send podcast in July. “I’m gonna drop it at the beginning of August.”
DaBaby’s forthcoming sequel to his 2019 debut album Baby on Baby will mark his first full-length project since he joined forces with YoungBoy Never Broke Again in April for their joint album Better Than You. Baby on Baby 2 will be his first solo effort since last November’s Back on My Baby Jesus Sh!t Again.
