Just in time for Valentine’s Day, UK’s very own Central Cee dropped off his new record,  “Me and You.” It’s a romantic song that finds Central Cee sliding over scattered production as he raps and gushes about his girlfriend. “Real is rare, it’s harder to come by, you’re an endangered species on top of the food chain,” he spits. The song is sweet and heartfelt, but Central Cee still manages to deliver each bar with the aggressive tone that his fans adore. “Me and You” marks Central Cee’s first single of 2023.

NAV, “Lately”

NAV is back with “Lately,” a slow-burning record led by organs that finds the Toronto native singing passionately about how he’s been feeling recently. As the beat builds, NAV sings, “Lately, I just wanna be by myself/I can’t hold it in, it’s burnin’/I’m the only one that’s earnin’/So, let me do what I want.”  “Lately” is an emotionally-rich record, but it also has a light and fun beat that will make listeners want to dance.

Roy Woods, “Don’t Love Me”

“Don’t Love” me is a slick R&B record with a thumping bass that finds Roy Woods singing in high vocals as he pleads with a girl not to fall for him. “Know I’m on my bullshit shawty/But girl, I tried to tell you not to love me,” he sings. He continues to outline why he isn’t to be trusted, but his voice is so mesmerizing that it’s hard not to get swept away. “Don’t Love Me” doesn’t appear to be tied to an album at this time.

Zacari ft. Ab-Soul, “Motions”

Zacari and Ab-Soul have teamed up for their new single. “Motions” is a funky record led by slick drums. On the track, Zacari kicks things off, delivering laid-back vocals. “I’m just goin’ through the motions, oh/Liftin’ off the ground/Driftin’ like the cloud,” Zacari sings on the chorus. Ab-Soul adds texture to the record as he delivers a rich and seductive verse.

Daniel Caesar, “Let Me Go”

“Let Me Go” is another slow-burning track on this week’s list; this time, we find Daniel Caesar singing sweetly as he attempts to recover from a failed relationship. On the track, he begs to be free of the heartache. “Ain’t gon’ sleep tonight/My dreams exhaust me/I’ll be awake ‘til the light,” he sings on the chorus. “Let Me Go” may have a sad undertone, but Daniel Caesar’s velvety vocals are very soothing.
