More than three years after the release of her debut album, Ari Lennox returns with a new single from her forthcoming sophomore LP.

Produced by Lennox’s Dreamville colleague Elite, who crafted the beats for eight songs on Ari’s 2019 studio debut Shea Butter Baby, “Hoodie” arrives alongside an accompanying visual that stars Isiah Rashad as the singer-songwriter’s love interest.

“I’m tryna get in that hoodie/Can I be in that hoodie?” Lennox sings on the seductive hook.

Lennox also announced her Age/Sex/Location album, which will be out Sept. 9. In addition to “Hoodie,” the project will include her 2021 hit “Pressure.”

“Hoodie” continues a prolific run for Lennox, who despite not having dropped any solo material this year has established momentum on the strength of her recent guest feature run. Since the top of 2022, Ari has collaborated with EarthGang (“Run Too”), Buddy (“Coolest Things”), Bas (“The Others”), Arin Ray (“What It Is”), and on Isaiah Rashad’s “Music (Where He Is).”
