Archie Eversole Was Fatally Shot in Face as He Slept, Police Say

Archie Eversole's brother, Alexander Krause, has since been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting that left his brother dead.

Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole was fatally shot in the face as he slept TMZ reports. The 37-year-old Eversole died after the shooting.

According to the police report, which was viewed by TMZ, Eversole told police his bedroom door was kicked open and he woke up to a gunshot to his face on March 25. While he said he couldn’t see who shot him at the time, his brother Alexander Krause has since been charged with murder in connection with the shooting. When police found Eversole at a gas station following the shooting, he was asked if the shooter was still in his home, and he confirmed they were. Police asked him if he knew the identity of the shooter, but he initially wouldn’t answer and then began fading in and out of consciousness.

Eversole was taken to the hospital after he was shot, but later died from his injuries on April 3. Krause is believed to be the shooter, and was originally arrested on a charge of aggravated assault before it was upgraded to a murder charge following his brother’s death. Officers first picked up Eversole at a Chevron gas station, where he was suffering from his gunshot wounds.

At Eversole’s home, police found blood across the front door and a trail of blood that led to the rapper’s bedroom. The door to the bedroom had been broken into, and there was blood on Eversole’s bed and wall. Krause was found to have blood on his socks when authorities spoke with him, and noted he was limping because he had a blister on his foot.

Eversole is most famous for his 2002 song “We Ready,” taken from his sole studio album, Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style. He released the record when he was just 17-years-old.
