Ed Sheeran owes a major thanks to Taylor Swift for his engagement to Cherry Seaborn.
It turns out that Sheeran ignited the flame with his old schoolmate at one of Swift's parties. During a behind-the-scenes clip of Swift's "End Game" music video, Swift declares that she wants "to talk about the fourth of July line because that makes [her] really happy." In the song, which was written by Sheeran, Swift sings "something was born on the fourth of July."
According to Ed, which you can see at the 2:45 mark above, that "something" was his relationship. "So the story was, I was at Taylor’s party, and then a girl I went to school with who’s pretty cool ended up being in Rhode Island," he explained. "I was like, 'Taylor, can she turn up?" And here we are."
Swift is all for the union as well. "Ugh, she is the coolest," she said in the clip.
Aside from the engagement ring on Seaborn's finger, it's clear that Sheeran is quite smitten with his fiancée. In his engagement announcement on Instagram, he wrote a sweet post. "Got myself a fiancé just before new year," it read. "We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx (sic)"
Old Taylor may be gone, but it seems that New Taylor is just as good when it comes to love.
