Hanumankind Explains Why He Used Project Pat's Flow On "Big Dawgs": ‘Three 6 Mafia Was Inevitable’

Hanumankind used Project Pat’s flow on “Big Dawgs” because of how influential Three 6 Mafia is for him and hip-hop in general.

We recently spoke with the rapper about his viral song, and he relayed just how important the legendary group is.

“I think Three 6 Mafia was inevitable man,” he explained. “Like, you can’t not be influenced or introduced to it because that era of the 2000s was just their time.”

Hanumankind continued on, expressing how influential the group is. “I think they set the precedent for a lot of sound, a lot of style,” explained Hanumankind. “And that wave of that Memphis sound, it’s real, man, because you can feel it in all the songs now. There’s so many elements like people don’t even know where they’re from.”

Hanumankind’s “Big Dawgs” has become one of 2024’s surprise hits. The song cracked the top 10 on the global charts back in August, with many listeners noticing that Hanumankind implemented Project Pat’s iconic “Patta Flow.”

Amplifying the already amped song was the well-executed video shot in Ponnani, Kerala, India. It pays homage to the traveling carnival show called the Well of Death that features stuntmen driving along walls of a vertical pit.

In the video, Humankind hangs outside of a car while participating in the stunts. He revealed to us that although it was fun, he was feeling pretty sick at first. “Motion sickness hit me so hard in the beginning, man,” he explained. “I was doing everything to keep my stomach in place, But eventually we figured out that when you sit outside and lean, you have a different perspective. It was way easier on my stomach and my mind.”
