TDott Woo, who recently announced the signing of a new record deal, is reported to have been shot and killed in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

An initial report from News 12 Bronx, which stated that the identity of the victim had not been released at the time, said a 22-year-old man had been fatally shot in the Canarsie neighborhood. Authorities are said to have responded to the scene of the shooting, at which point the victim was taken to a nearby hospital and ultimately pronounced dead.

A separate report from the New York Daily News, meanwhile, identified the shooting victim as 22-year-old Tahjay Dobson, a.k.a. “Mike Jack” and “Stepp” artist TDott Woo. As fans will recall, TDott had appeared in videos by Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign. The latter, for example, featured TDott (pictured above alongside Fivio) in his 2019 “Big Drip” video. And back in October 2020, Fivio linked up with TDott for a “Bop It” dance tutorial clip.

This week, Million Dollar Music had announced TDott’s signing via an Instagram Stories update, billing him as an “official artist” of the label.

“And the journey begins,” the label said at the time. In a statement shared Tuesday, also on IG, the label remembered TDott as a “friend, brother, cousin” and said his legacy will “always” live on.

In response to the news, a number of fellow artists and industry figures have offered tribute messages to TDott, including Destined 2 Win artist Lil Tjay.

RIP.
