Post Malone is pointing to “dad life” as the impetus behind his recent weight loss and all-around healthier approach to the rockstar life.

In a message to fans shared to Instagram on Friday, Posty responded to shit-for-brains speculation that total strangers have leveled at him in recent months regarding drug use. As Malone explained, he’s simply in a great place at the moment on all fronts—nothing more, nothing less.

“[I] wanted to say that i’m not doing drugs,” he wrote on IG. “[I]’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and i’d suppose, performance on stage. i’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier. i guess dad life kicked in and i decided to kick soda, and start eating better so i can be around for a long time for this little angel.”

As previously reported, Posty announced the birth of his and his fiancée’s first child together during an interview with Howard Stern in June of last year. Next up on the journey of fatherhood, Malone told fans on Friday, are cigarettes and beer. He also teased that he’s been spending time in the studio as of late, adding that he’s “so excited” to share the results with fans.

“[M]y brain is in a super dope place, and i’m the happiest i’ve been in a long time,” he said. “[I]f you’re having a hard time or need some love, i can say that you’re loved more than you know, and keep fucking crushing it.”
