No, Zane Lowe Did Not Tease an 'Industry-Shaking' Mystery Feature on Drake’s New Album

Bullsh*t can go a long way in 2023. Thankfully, Zane Lowe and Apple Music were quick to shut down the 'Dogs' claims as "completely false."

For the latest example of completely fabricated claims quickly gaining traction despite being bullshit, and most notably despite being properly sourced, we turn to a tweeted claim about Zane Lowe and Drake’s upcoming For All the Dogs album.

Fans were quick to leap into speculation mode in response to comments attributed to Zane about a mystery guest on the album with an “industry-shaking” and “never-done-before” contribution described as a “feature of dreams.” This quickly spurred Frank Ocean speculation, as well as simultaneous theorizing that Drake will have Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole on a new song. The only problem? Zane Lowe never fucking said any of that shit.

When the claims first started making the rounds, I hit up Apple Music, who promptly noted that Zane has actually been on vacation for weeks and thus hasn’t been on the air in some time.

Zane himself later addressed the “completely false” claims in a series of tweets.

“Never happened,” he said in his initial response. “Haven’t even been live on radio for the last two weeks.”

A recent factual development on the For All the Dogs front is the reveal of the album’s cover art, credited to Drake’s son Adonis. The imminent album follows the "Summer Games" sequel denier's 2022 solo release Honestly, Nevermind and his 21 Savage collab project Her Loss.

Drake and 21 are currently on the road with their continuously headlined It's All a Blur tour, which is back in Los Angeles Tuesday evening before moving to Seattle, Vancouver, Las Vegas, and elsewhere in the coming weeks.
