Both Jennifer’s Body and blink-182 are referenced in the latest track from Machine Gun Kelly.
The latest from MGK was co-written with frequent collaborators Nick Long and blink-182’s Travis Barker, both of whom also produced the track.
Recent months have seen much speculation from fans about the status of the follow-up to MGK and Barker’s 2020 chart-topper Tickets to My Downfall. The new album, originally titled Born With Horns (complete with fresh ink for both artists commemorating that name), is now called Mainstream Sellout.
“Okay, we’re friends no matter what, right?” MGK said in a video with Barker this week. “Remember when we got the new album name tattooed on our arms? I’m changing the album name.”
The newly named Mainstream Sellout, featuring “Emo Girl,” is now expected to be released on March 25. It’s not currently clear whether last year’s “Papercuts,” also featuring drums and production from the prolific Barker, will appear on the final tracklist. That song was brought to life via a memorable video from director Cole Bennett, who noted the project marked his “first rock video ever.”
