Khalid is back with another taste of his upcoming album and short film projectFree Spirit.
Up top, stream the newly released "Don't Pretend." Wednesday also saw the debut of Khalid's Beats 1 show Free Spirit Radio, the inaugural episode of which includes some personal favorites from Khalid that he says inspired his new music. Khalid also revealed that an unreleased song he has in the bag with Majid Jordan is "one of my favorite songs I've ever done."
This Friday, which is Free Spirit release day, the second episode will see Khalid and Zane Lowe intimately discussing the American Teen follow-up song by song.
The album's accompanying short will be screened at select theaters across the globe Wednesday. Screening attendees will also be given the chance to hear the new album in full, with the events being co-billed as listening parties.
With his 2017 debut American Teen, Khalid saw a level of success many artists never encounter even after decades of chipping away at their craft. Given the scope and ambition behind Free Spirit, it's safe to say Khalid isn't comfortable resting on those laurels anytime soon.
