"Self," the 14th cut off Khalid's upcoming Free Spirit, is out now.

Khalid dropped off the new track, featuring production from noted Kanye West and Travis Barker collaborator Hit-Boy, early Thursday. Stream the latest Free Spirit single up top via YouTube and/or below via Apple Music.

Khalid's previously sampled his American Teen follow-up with the release of "My Bad," "Better," "Saturday Nights," and "Talk." The latter marked a collaboration with electronic group Disclosure, who co-wrote and produced the song. The album, out April 5, will also be supported by the release of a short film of the same name.

The "special companion film" will debut April 3 as part of a partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, who previously put on similar premiere events for other music-released cinema experiences like Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams. Khalid developed the film's story with director Emil Nava. He also stars in the short, joined by a cast that also includes Judah Lang and Edi Gathegi. The April 3 screenings will notably double as Free Spirit listening events.

Title aside, Khalid previously told fans they could still expect plenty of darker lyrical material on the new album. "It's dark, but it's not too dark, where's like, 'Ugh, I'm dragging, I'm so sad,'" Khalid told Beats 1's Zane Lowe earlier this month.
