A private movie screening last month included the allegedly accidental firing of a handgun by Kamaiyah, who's now being reported to have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

TMZ reported Monday that Kamaiyah was taken in and booked "a couple weeks ago" for felony negligent discharge of a firearm following the issuing of a warrant. Authorities, per the report, found what they believed to be the same gun used during the incident. She was ultimately released on $35,000 bond.

As for what exactly happened, Kamaiyah was at a San Fernando Valley area apartment building in August, where she met up with friends to watch a movie at the building's theater-esque screening room. Surveillance video, later assessed by property management and law enforcement officials, showed a woman (allegedly Kamaiyah) pulling the handgun from a bag. The discharge is said to have been accidental and reportedly occurred while she was "playing with" the weapon.

Complex has reached out to Kamaiyah's reps for comment and will update this post accordingly.

Kamaiyah, who was among those selected for XXL's Freshman Class back in 2017, enlisted Quavo and Tyga for the single "Windows" back in June.

In a note to fans over the summer, she looked back on her journey to success, recalling the days she spent working night shifts to fund recording sessions. "I used to work graveyard as a security guard for 16 hours just to have enough money to record my music," she said. "I'm hella blessed. I ain't going back to sleeping in my car at construction sites hoping the crackheads don't steal nothin' so I don’t have to chase them."
