Planet Giza's New Ep You Don't Understand

Planet Giza lives and dies for the funk on their new EP You Don’t Understand, a four-track project featuring bouncy production and sharp vocals from frontman Tony Stone.

“Dance to it, Smile to it, Cry to it wtv y’all want honestly,” the trio wrote in an Instagram post.

Starting with the EP’s single “Das U,” Planet Giza sounds hungrier than ever, with an inspired Stone rapping over a sinister funk-driven beat. The rest of the EP slows down with each track.

“Live for the Funk” offers up a track best suited for the dancefloor while the last two tracks “Slow Dine” and “Unavailable” are Giza’s foray into a more melodic and soothing direction.

While production was mainly handled in-house by Rami B. and Dumix, they also had help from several Montreal producers such as JMF and Da-P. Washington DC-via-Dallas producer Chromonicci also lent his hand on “Live for the Funk.”

You Don’t Understand is Planet Giza’s first project since their last EP Don’t Throw Rocks At The Moon came out in 2021.
