Montreal’s Planet Giza have come out of their slumber with “Das U,” an eclectic banger that sees frontman Tony Stone braggadociously rap about his success, his lyrical talent, and his girl stealing the show everywhere they go.

“Pull up in that candy girl, the new edition / Understood the assignment, the job, and the mission,” Stone raps over Rami B and Dumix’s glitchy beat.

The trio also released an accompanying video to “Das U” directed by Quiet Note & Visual Deception that begins with Stone yelling at someone on the phone and asking them “why the *bleep* would you not think I’m that guy? I’m him for real.”

The rest of the video follows the group across various locations in their hometown, from the hanging bird cages of Dragon Flowers to slinging smoked meat behind the counter at Lester’s Deli. All the while, Stone is bragging about anything and everything he can think of.

In a tweet announcing the single, the group said “A lot has changed since we last dropped, it’s Giza season again!

A LOT HAS CHANGED SINCE WE LAST DROPPED, IT’S GIZA SEASON AGAIN!

“Das U” marks Planet Giza’s first release since their last single  “While You on Road” from earlier this year. Their last project, Don’t Throw Rocks At The Moon, came dropped in 2021.

Planet Giza first came together in the mid-2010s and almost joined forces with Lou Phelps when he discovered them and introduced them to his brother, Kaytranada.
