The Weeknd Barely Blinks When Object Almost Falls on Him Mid-Song

The singer is fortunate to have avoided injury from an object that landed just a few feet from him at a Mexico City gig.

The Weeknd, currently on an international tour, is fortunate to have left his Sunday performance unscathed. During his Mexico City appearance, he was almost struck by a falling object during his set. The video below, which surfaced via TMZ, clearly shows the R&B superstar singing his hit record "Call Out My Name" seconds before the moment of impact.

What's more impressive than his narrow escape from injury is his strong composure during the brief incident. After the object makes impact just a few feet away from him, the singer continues without missing a beat. While the cause for the incident hasn't been confirmed, it is possible that the weather may have contributed to it, as it rained heavily for the duration of the performance.

Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, the Weeknd still showed up to entertain his many fans, who also were not fazed by the rain. XO affiliate and manager Cash posted a video to his Instagram which showed just how many people were willing to brave the inclement weather to watch Abel's stellar performance.

The Weeknd is scheduled to perform once again in Mexico City tonight, but thankfully, the weather calls for no precipitation. Further information for his tour can be found here.
