Since a snippet of Kendrick Lamar's verse in TDE's Cypher at the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards surfaced, appearing to throw shots at Drake, speculation about the full contents has run rampant. Was this really "Control, Part Two" as some people were suggesting?
Tonight, the awards show aired, and we were able to find out for ourselves. It turns out that Kendrick's verse might not have been as incendiary or targeted toward Drake as it first appeared. There's no doubt, however, that it's a work of tremendous technical skill and that Kendrick is definitely mad at somebody. He doesn't name names, and mostly it comes across as standard battle rap bravado, but Kendrick is definitely no longer playing.
