While an actual cause of death has not emerged, Resident Advisor is reporting that Mark Bell, member of the seminal electronic music outfit LFO, has passed away. Back before many of us got into Warp Records via releases from Aphex Twin, LFO was an integral part in taking electronic music and giving quirky melodies life. While LFO started out as a duo, in later years the group survived solely through Mark Bell, remixing everyone from Afrika Bambaataa, The Art of Noise, Radiohead, and others, as well as working on seven Bjork albums, starting with 1997's Homogenic.

We will keep you posted on this news as more details of Bell's passing emerge.

UPDATE Warp reports that Bell "died last week from complications after an operation." His family is asking for privacy at this time.
