The life and legacy of rapper, religious figure and Internet icon Lil B was threatened on Thursday when he was caught in a house fire in his Bay Area apartment building. The Contra Costa Times reports that he was saved by a 15-year-old boy named Mateo Ysmael, who says he smelled the smoke and saw the flames. He and his family are just a few of the eight people in total who live there with Lil B. "I just ran and got my stepmom, and told her I thought the place was on fire, Then I went and got my little brother and my two sisters. We got out of there quick. Then I pounded my neighbor's door," he said.
The blaze was caused by an electrical fire in the garage unit, which spread upstairs in the complex. Afterwards, Lil B went to Twitter to express his gratitude to the fire department and to take donations:

Hopefully this is just a minor setback for the Basedgod, but really all the props should go to the quick thinking of Mateo, who truly stepped up for the #TaskForce. Swag.
