This track is a sublime surprise from Iowa/California-based DJ and producer Kage, whose break from producing has been just a little too long. Largely an unassuming character, he's managed to turn out a genre-bending flip of Andre Nickatina and San Quinn's cautionary tale "Ayo For Yayo." One part progressive Deadmau5 synth chords and filters, another part trapped-out drum kits and a dash of chart-friendly lyrical arrangement and a healthy dose of cheese to boot and this track might just be your next guilty pleasure. It's a real challenge to label it one thing or another — elements of progressive house and hip-hop blend together surprisingly well here. It's nothing that'll reinvent the game, but it's a track that comes from left field in a really satisfying way. Peep our stream below and you can find a free download in exchange for a like on Kage's Facebook page.
