Vancouver's Safe & Sound Music Festival is back for another year and is bringing out some big guns to celebrate it's second birthday. While last year's lineup focused on homegrown Canadian talent, this year will feature both local favourites and some international heavyweights including Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, Vince Staples, Alina Baraz, Sabrina Claudio, Goldlink, SonReal and more.

“After a great first year with the SSMF, we were excited to build on our decision to create a boutique festival experience based around live contemporary R&B and hip hop music,” explains Paul Stoilen, President of Safe & Sound Entertainment. “With Anderson .Paak set to release a new album later this year, our accessible waterfront location at Westminster Pier Park will be an incredible venue for fans to experience his music in person.”

The festival is the brainchild of Vancouver hospitality group Safe & Sound Entertainment, and was created with the intention of providing an additional platform for local artists in addition to bringing bigger acts to the city. “We work with many local artists on a regular basis and having the opportunity to invite them to perform on our SSMF stage is a real honour," adds Stoilen. "One of the reasons why we wanted to do a two day festival in the first place was so that we could showcase more local talent including SonReal, the SJS DJs, The Freshest, Niña Mendoza, So Loki, Angst, Sophia Danai, Kenny Gourmet and more.”

Two-day general admission and VIP admission tickets will be on sale at the SSMF website on Monday, June 4, 2018 for $179.99 and $279.99 respectively. Single day tickets will go on sale at a later date.
