JACKBOYS, the compilation project from Travis Scott and the Cactus Jack collective, has taken over the top spot in its debut week on the Billboard 200.
The album, which features contributions from La Flame and members of Cactus Jack Records—Sheck Wes, DJ Chase B, and Don Toliver—among others, earned 154,000 equivalent units with 79,000 of which came from album sales. Billboard highlights that a majority of the traditional sales were supported by dozens of merchandise/album bundles.
After teasing its arrival one month earlier, Scott confirmed that JACKBOYS was on the way during an interview with Zach Lowe in late November, while promoting his latest single "Highest in the Room."
"I'm at the point where I'm just trying to cook up some dope shit and drop 'Highest in the Room,' and maybe put something around it," Trav said. "But I’m always down to drop music and serve some packs to the fans. It’s time for the fans to eat. I'm gearing up for something special. All I can say is JACKBOYS on the way."
Scott is scheduled to headline Coachella 2020, along with Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine.
Rounding out the top three was Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial by Roddy Ricch (74,000 equivalent album units), and fresh off his New Year's Eve performance in Times Square, Post Malone's latest album Hollywood’s Bleeding jumped from sixth to third with 64,000 units.
