Setting himself up for a big 2022, Shadez The Misfit has just dropped off the visuals for his new single “Random Inner Thoughts”, a rhythmic, almost stream of consciousness deep dive into the structural inequalities of society that arrives ahead of his forthcoming audio/visual project South Side Raised Me Father God Changed Me.

With a subtle, guitar-led instrumental from producer Mauro Saquitala, “Random Inner Thoughts” doesn’t play around, getting right to the heart of matters immediately. Unpacking systemic racism and structural inequalities with surgical precision, there’s a surprising touch of hope underpinning it all that in spite of everything, the world can improve.

There aren’t too many details about the album just yet, but “Random Inner Thoughts” gives us a few hints. First, it comes with a collage-style video crafted by artist Charlie Elms aka 10 Years Time. It’s a relatively straightforward concept that prioritises impact in place of overwrought fussing, letting Shadez’s lyrics do the talking against his rotating silhouette and a bold red background.
