Catalonian DJ and producer Piem has been honing his sound since being raised on the house anthems of the late '90s and early 2000s. That education in the classics is one of the reasons he finds himself a regular feature at big name clubs in London, Miami and Ibiza, Piem now finds himself as resident curator at Barcelona's world-famous W. It's also given him a well-informed palette and that's never been more audible than in his latest single "America". A big thumping drum guides the track along while the bass buzzes and shudders and off-kilter, out-there synths flit in and out of the mix. "America" is the 10th release to come from Berlin-based label Superfett Records and officially drops Aug 20.
