Manchester’s [ K S R ] is back with his new single, “Drop In”.

As with the singer-songwriter’s last single, “Call My Phone”, it’s another team-up with producer Teo, a respected figure in Manchester’s soul scene and trusted collaborator of the likes of Children Of Zeus and Akemi Fox. At the time, it was hinted that the artist/producer pair had more on the way, including talk of a full-length collab project, and it would appear this is the next step.

“Drop In” is a dreamy piece of neo-soul, given a gentle pop and snap thanks to Teo’s shuffling drum pattern. A bit more tender than the last outing, this one offers a plea to “drop in for the morning” and sends shivers down the spine with the rich harmonies behind him.

Speaking on the track’s inception, [ K S R ] tells Complex: “‘Drop In’ emerged during mine and Teo’s initial session amidst the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as the world gradually reopens, I grappled with a persistent reluctance to venture beyond the confines of my home, reflecting the uncertainty both in the external world and within myself. The song encapsulates the warmth and comfort derived from having someone visit you after an exhausting day—a simple yet profound respite in the midst of life’s chaos.”

We’ve now had two tastes of what [ K S R ] and Teo have been cooking up. Both quite different offerings, time will tell what this mysterious project could sound like. Ahead of the official release via First Word, press play on “Drop In” exclusively below and pre-order the single here.
