Last year, emerging singer-songwriter Bea Anderson reaped the benefit of perfect timing with the release of her debut EP, eden, landing just in time for her to start taking the new songs out on the road as lockdown began to ease.
It’s been full speed ahead since then, taking her intimate but intoxicating brand of soul and R&B as far and wide as she can. She’s been playlisted left right and centre and she’s in high demand for live sessions, but now she’s putting a brief pause on all of that to share her new single “Mirror Mirror”, he first since the EP landed.
“Mirror Mirror” comes complete with some equally fresh visuals which catch Bea oceanside as the light begins to fade, datching on the crystalline sea on its way down. Blissful and calming on the surface, but on closer inspection the lyrics betray a more vulnerable side.
Speaking about the new track, Bea told Complex: “Mirror Mirror is a real juxtaposition. The lyrics talk of vulnerability and ownership, whilst the vibe is celebratory. Sometimes looking in the mirror isn’t always a beautiful sight, but let’s celebrate being able to look at the truest form of yourself.”
