Two years ago, the late Jamal Edwards MBE co-founded a new app under the name 8BARS, a slick new platform geared at democratising talent discovery and nurturing connections between audiences and grassroots music culture. Since Edwards’ untimely passing, the platform has continued to develop and has now rebranded and relaunched as ONE2 1TWO.

The new and improved ONE2 1TWO has been redesigned and now focuses on talent competitions to help discover, support and amplify emerging artists. ONE2 1TWO is also working on features to allow users and artists to earn money from their participation in competitions and make it easier for fans to directly support their favourite artists.

The most recent competition with multi-platinum producer TSB allowed artists from the three countries to compete for studio sessions with the producer who has worked with the likes of J Hus, Dave, Stormzy, MoStack, Headie One, Knucks and more.

They’ve also just brought Nines on as an investor and to celebrate the recent release of his new album, Crop Circle 2, the Church Road artist has launched his own competition on the app. The Crop Circle 2 Remix competition invites artists to upload a verse from one of three tracks on his most recent album: “Tony Soprano 2”, “Wrist Watch”, and “Calendar”. The Grand Prize artist winner will win a studio session with Nines himself and a top fan will also win Crop Circle 2 merch and a photo with the rapper.

Artists have two weeks to enter the competition before the top artists get selected to go through to fan voting. All rules of the competition can be found inside the app.
