UK R&B fans continue to eat well as Odeal drops off yet another soulful heater, “Gaslight 101”.
The new track—produced by Charlie Pitts—arrives via Odeal’s OVMBR brand and details the often complicated, grey side of romance and how things can go awry despite everyone’s best intentions. Quick to point out his own flaws—missed messages, unreturned calls—Odeal also notes how quickly these things get misinterpreted.
“Gaslight 101” also comes with a video that, appropriately enough, casts Odeal and his other half in dramatic greyscale. Although intimate, there’s a noticeable distance between them at times.
Between eight-figure streams on some of his recent hits, co-signs the world over, a rapturously received COLORS performance and some high-profile appearances at London Fashion Week, Odeal’s hot property right now and given his formidable work rate so far, we suspect even bigger things lie ahead.
